Improvements & New Additions 2010-2011

This has been one of the busiest and most exciting summers – probably ever! There are lots of new improvements to look forward to at Crystal Mountain this winter. A total of $6.25 million was spent on improvements and new additions this summer alone. Over $25 million has been invested in the area over the past decade! I guess you could say we take pride in enhancing our guests experiences!

Mount Rainier Gondola

Crystal Mountain is home to the only gondola at a ski area in Washington State!
Skiers and foot passengers will journey almost 2,500 vertical feet over alpine terrain from the base area to the top of the mountain in less than 10 minutes. It provides access to the Summit House, a breathtaking vista of Mount Rainier and some of the best terrain found on the mountain. There are a total of 18 cabins, each seat eight passengers. The gondola opens many new doors: First Tracks Breakfast, aprés-ski and dinner at the Summit House, scenic rides for foot passengers, early and late-Spring skiing and so much more! Learn more

Sasquatch Jib Park

The Sasquatch Park, located on the 4,400 foot long Mr. Magoo run under the Forest
Queen Express chairlift, is comprised of approximately thirty features varying from different kinked rails, straight rails, boxes, bonks, stalls, pole jams, butter pads of snow. Everything you need to cure all of your sliding, tapping, bonking, wild shredding desires can be found here. The park offers no shortage of creativity, innovation, progression and of course fun! Direct-To-Lift & Re-Loadable Ticketing System

Save time and money this winter with the new GO Card ticket program. It allows skiers and riders to load tickets in advance online and GO straight to the lift. Guests will get a GO Card at the window when they purchase a ticket, then it’s theirs to reload and keep forever! Radio Frequency ID (RFID) is a small circuit integrated into all season passes and GO Cards that validates as you pass by the gate. GO Cards must be loaded with single or multi-day tickets in advance. Save time and money by reloading online. Learn more

Chinook Cafe & Espresso Bar

Fuel up at the new Chinook Cafe & Espresso bar located on the main level (below the Bullwheel) of the day lodge. Belly up to the bar and sip your espresso. Select breakfast and grab-and-go items will also be available. The Chinook Cafe & Espresso Bar will be open daily from 7am-5pm.

Trail work was conducted in the Northway area including tree de-limbing and brush cutting, downed trees were removed by heli from the 13F trail out of Northway, new automatic faucets and hand dryers in the day lodge restrooms, new carpet in the Bullwheel, new chairs in the day lodge, expanded wi-fi access in the day lodge, new 27” flat screen TV’s in the Bullwheel, 42” flat screen TV in the Chinook Cafe, new carpet in Summit House, snow making capability at the summit between the top of Rainier Express and the Green Valley chair, Ski Patrol aid room remodel, North and West end of the day lodge exterior remodeled, extended plaza and heated pavers around bottom terminal of the gondola, addition of a 85,000 gallon water tank added at the Summit House to prepare for expansion of the building.
