What's New

The new 8-passenger Mt. Rainier Gondola opened January 1, 2011 and came with a price tag of $8 million dollars. While it will be hard to top that, we have some new and exciting changes in store for this coming winter!

New For 2011-2012

Mountain Shop
The Mountain Shop features a full service demo shop, boot-fitting services and ski and snowboard retail in a freshly remodeled space next to the Rental Shop and Snowsports School

RDL Test Center
Located underneath the top terminal of the Mt. Rainier Gondola, this test center will feature the latest ski technology from Rossignol, Dynastar and Lange. You can start your demo experience here, or swap out gear from the base area Mountain Shop.

New Winch Cat
We have added a new Piston Bully winch cat to our fleet that will be dedicated to grooming Otto Bahn in the Northway area.

Remodeled Rental Shop and Snowsports School
The rental shop and Snowsports School have been remodeled to create a more seamless, enjoyable guest experience. The desk for adult lessons and rentals is located in the same space and has been expanded. New Head rental skis feature self-service boot selection, which cuts down wait time and frees up more rental shop employees to assist guests.

Relocated Stor-a-Ski
Stor-a-Ski has moved! It’s around the corner from the old location, on the South patio of the building that houses the rental shop and Right Angle Sports Shop.

Other Honorable Mentions
A new patio was built in the Play Pen between Kids Club and the Rental Shop. The Magic Carpet will move closer to Discovery Chairlift.
Extensive groundwork has taken place between the Summit House and Mt. Rainier Gondola, including new graded pathways between the gondola and Summit House, and the Summit House and Green Valley. There is also a new patio on the north side of the gondola terminal.
