Developing the next level of riders
Crystal Mountain Freeride is designed to challenge athletes on big mountain terrain and progress their abilities.
We are pleased to offer a comprehensive Freeride Sports Program that is accessible to a wide variety of athletes—from kids looking to develop freeriding skills to driven freeride competitors.

Taking advantage of our massive mountain playground, the mission of Crystal Mountain Freeride is to teach core principles of excellent technique, mountain safety, good decision-making, competition freeriding, and mountain skills.

With this in mind, we have created a developmental pipeline for our participants. This approach aids in creating an environment that allows coaches to focus on athletes’ development and skills. They move through a system that teaches fundamentals in technical skiing and riding on challenging terrain, including chutes, couloirs, cliffs, jumps, and variable snow conditions.

Part of the freeride experience is joining your friends in a freeride competition. Freeride contests are legendary for fostering a supportive competitor environment while cheering riders for impressive runs. We've picked the most challenging terrain at Crystal Mountain and set up events designed to challenge competitors’ abilities. The events are judged, and the winners are rewarded with swag, skis, snowboards, helmets, goggles, and more.
